# Understanding SMS cost and your account balance

## Know exactly what every message costs, before and after you send

## Checking your balance

Your current Kudosity account balance is shown in **Settings > Integrations > Sublime SMS > Billing**, along with a breakdown of recent spend. A live balance indicator is also shown directly in the SMS Chat card, so you can see it while sending.

## How messages are billed

Every SMS is billed by Kudosity based on the number of **parts** (segments) it's split into:

- Standard messages: up to 160 characters per part
- Messages containing emoji or non-Latin characters: up to 70 characters per part

A message longer than one part is billed as multiple parts. The cost and part count for every message you send is recorded and visible in that contact's SMS history.

## Workflow (bulk) sends

When a message is sent to many contacts at once through a workflow, the total cost for that batch is divided evenly across each recipient for reporting purposes, so every contact's SMS history shows an accurate per-message cost.
